Emily Atack hits back at cruel troll after being branded a ‘pig’

Emily Atack has hit back at a troll who messaged her on Instagram with a hilarious reply.

The comedian, 32, has spoken openly about the cruel messages she receives on social media and occasionally shares them with witty replies.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Emily posted a reply to a photo she’d posted, where an anonymous replier had called her a “fat munter”.

However, trying not to let the comment get her down, the star posted a screenshot of the comment with her own witty response.

The Inbetweeners star wrote: "Great to see the word 'Munter' making a comeback”, followed by two heart eyes emojis.

It’s not the first time Emily has posted some of the comments she’s received with her own funny response.

Last month, she received received a message from a follower in reply to one of her Instagram stories who said she used to be “fat” and should not “lie” about eating pizza.

The message read: “Why lie to your fans making out you eat pizza or flan when you don't. About two years ago you were fat and now you're on TV you're hot. Disgusting.”

Emily had a witty response to the troll and simply replied: “I prefer a flan…”

However, despite joking about the comments she receives, the star has previously said she can find them “upsetting”.

“I don’t think there’s any way you deal with it.

“It upsets me, but not for long, I’ll talk about something else five minutes later,” she told the Sun.

"If someone comments on something on social media that upsets me, say about my weight, I go: ‘That’s upsetting,’ and then I just move on.’"

It comes after the star and footballer Jack Grealish were believed to have been spending time together as friends in late 2021, causing a strain on Jack’s on-and-off relationship with long term girlfriend Sasha Attwood.

Things appeared to have come to an end between Jack and Emily, however, with the Inbetweeners star going on to unfollow the footballer on Instagram.

In the wake of the breakdown of their friendship, Emily shared an ambiguous post on Instagram about “filling a void” in her life.

The quote, credited to poet Yung Pueblo, read: “I was never addicted to one thing, I was addicted to filling a void within myself with things other than my own love”.
