Eamonn Holmes dons glasses as he address eye problem on This Morning ‘In a bad way’
This Morning: Ruth says Eamonn's swollen eye 'frightened' her
This Morning host Eamonn Holmes told fans that his left eye was in a “bad way” today amid his stint on TV. The 61-year-old presenter spoke out about his health on social media after donning a pair of dark-framed glasses while presenting the show with his wife Ruth Langsford.
Eamonn posted a black and white picture of himself online and addressed his new look.
“Guys left eye in a bad way today ….Stye trouble…. hope that explains the Glasses,” he wrote on Twitter, in view of his one million followers.
He went on to say that he was sharing a black and white as his eye was looking rather red.
“…And the B&W pic. Spares you the gory colour,” he added.
“Think I’ll have to wear them for the rest of the week,” Eamonn went on to explain.

Many took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts and tell Eamonn who they thought he looked like in his glasses.
“I thought that was a pic of Cary Grant!” one follower remarked.
“That’ll do me!” a rather impressed Eamonn replied.
“Hell I thought it was the late great Ronnie barker,” another added.
“Very James Bond with glasses on, you suit them,” a third follower remarked.
“When did Bond wear Glasses?” the TV asked, to which the user replied: “Xray glasses..”
“You look dashing and very intriguing, dear boy,” a fourth fan gushed.
However one follower issued a warning to Eamonn, advising him that his glasses would in fact irritate his eye.

“But they hide it while on air!
“Promise I’ll take them off after the programme,” Eamonn told the concerned follower.
“Loving the glasses Eamonn…loving your show with Wifey today..gonna miss you both in the new year…” another person added.
Over on Instagram, Eamonn apologised to ITV viewers for wearing his specs on This Morning.
He said sorry alongside the same black and white picture.
“Guys don’t want to subject you to the horrors of Colour today. My style is roaring Red but the Glasses hide it. Sorry.”
However, it seems there was no need to apologise as many loved his new look.
“Looking good,” said Homes Under The Hammer star Lucy Alexander.
“Love you in glasses,” said Lizzie Cundy.
Earlier in the year, ITV announced that Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will present This Morning on a Friday in 2021.
They will replace Eamonn and Ruth who have held the Friday presenting slot for 13 years.
The couple will continue to front the show during school holidays when regular host Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take a break.
This Morning continues every weekday morning at 10am on ITV.
