‘Doctors saved our baby’s life!’ – Kourtney Kardashian on ‘fear’ in ‘urgent foetal surgery’

Kourtney Kardashian has revealed that doctors saved her unborn baby's life after she underwent "urgent foetal surgery."

Last Friday her husband, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, 47, was forced to return home to America on an "urgent family matter".

It turned out it was so he could be there for his pregnant wife Kourtney, 44, who was hospitalised under mystery circumstances.

Now reality TV star Kourtney has opened up on the experience, recounting a feeling of "fear" as she was rushed to hospital and thanking "doctors for saving our baby's life".

Posting to Instagram, she said: "I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life.

"I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock."

She also said: "As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery.

"I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear."

Her post continued: "I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant."

And it finished: "Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing."

Kourtney also took time to pay tribute to her mother, Kris Jenner, saying: "Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing."

Fans rushed to support Kourtney in the comments, with one saying: "Even as a stranger (and fan) Im glad to hear of any Mama that makes it out the other side of our collective worst nightmare as Mothers."

Another posted: "Glory be to God. Thank God for protection and strength. Sending you all my love kourt."

A third said: "I’m so so deeply sorry you had to go through that feeling Kourt. I’m just thankful and relieved for you that everything worked out. I know this means everything to you how hard you tried i love you more than anything."

On Saturday Kourtney and Travis were spotted leaving a Los Angeles hospital and getting into a black SUV with security following behind them.

Kourtney announced her pregnancy at a Blink-182 gig earlier this year as she held up a sign that read: "Travis, I'm Pregnant."

Since then, she has been snapped showing off her blossoming baby bump, while recently Travis has been talking about names for the little one.
