Love Island star Demi Jones appears to have taken a liking to new Islander Brad McClelland after calling him ‘so sweet’.
Demi’s comments came during a post on the official Love Island Instagram account introducing this year’s contestants.
Commenting on Brad, who is a 26 year old labourer from Amble, Demi wrote: “Brad looks soooo sweet! Can’t wait to watch them all”.
Demi has been single since last year following her split from her Winter Love Island co-star Luke Mabbott, who is now dating fellow Islander Lucie Donlan.
Demi’s fellow Love Island stars Amber Gill and Anna Vakili echoed Demi’s sentiments, with Amber writing on another post about Brad: “He’s beaut”.
Brad bears a striking resemblance to Amber’s former boyfriend and co-star Greg O’Shea, with whom she won the ITV2 dating show with in 2019.
Anna added of Brad: “Too cuteeeeee”.
Brad says of himself: “I’ve been single for two years, recently been in a long-term relationship, and now I’m ready to find the one!”
“I don’t really get much attention to be fair. Sometimes lasses will turn their head if I walk in, but doesn’t happen often. I mean I try, sometimes it just doesn’t work!”
The star also says people often get the wrong impression of him and have misconceptions.
“People would probably think I’m a top shagger, but obviously I’m f*****g far from it!” he laughs.
“Last time I had sex was, it was the end of 2019.
“Everyone get the wrong impression of us. They’ll take face value and think: “Ahh he’s arrogant, he’s this, he’s that, I’m none of that!”
Brad adds: “I describe myself as someone who’s very honest, true to themselves, I like to think I’m a laugh, good company to be around, a genuine nice lad!”
And making a sweet revelation about his living situation, Brad adds: “I live with my nana and her little dog. Definitely wouldn’t be going to my nana for dating advice!”
Love Island host Laura Whitmore recently opened up about what it takes to be the perfect Islander and the qualities needed.
The 36 year old explained: “The perfect Islander, for me, is someone funny. Someone who stirs it up a little bit. You want characters and big personalities in there. Someone who just goes for it.”
And as for what advice she would give this year’s contestants, she adds: “The only thing I can say is be yourself. Eight weeks is a long time, if you try and play a game or try to be something you’re not, you’re going to get found out quite quickly.
“From watching the show, I would just say be yourself if you want to be in there for the long run.”
