Declan Rice’s brother’s baby was born seconds after Harry Kane’s winning goal

Declan Rice was delivered another bout of good news on Wednesday evening after learning that his brother and his partner had welcomed a baby girl moments after England's win at the Euro 2020 semi-final.

The nation erupted into excitement and pride when the Three Lions bagged their place in the coveted final against Italy following their 2-1 victory over Denmark after the game nail-bitingly extended into extra time.

And the 22 year old admitted that the moment was even more celebratory after learning seconds later that there was a new addition to his family.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the West Ham midfielder gushed: "My brother has literally had a baby, literally as the second goal went in."


"My brother's crying his eyes out, he's had a little girl. It's an unbelievable night, I'm so happy. It's a special night all around."

Declan went onto speak of the match itself, admitting that he "wants to do it for the people at home".

Speaking about the steel focus and determination they need for Sunday's final at Wembley, Rice added: "We've not won anything yet. Italy are a top side, but we're ready."

Harry Kane led England to a victorious 2-1 victory over Denmark to seal a place in the final of the European Championships at Wembley Stadium.

Prince William and Prime Minister Boris Johnson were celebrating the win from the stands at Wembley Stadium.

Singer Adele took to Instagram to film the moment Harry, 27, missed the penalty and then scored with the rebound, screaming as the ball hit the back of the net.

Robbie Williams was another famous Brit singer celebrating the victory, with his wife Ayda Field sharing a snap of the newly bald star holding up his fists and screaming with excitement.

Rochelle and Marvin Humes were lucky enough to be celebrating from the stands, with the former The Saturdays singer filming the moment Harry scored.

She later posted snaps of her and Marvin, writing: "What a night… Well done boys."
