This weekend's Dancing on Ice is celebrating Valentine’s day with the greatest love stories. Training has been very different this week. What me and Vanessa have to show is the complete polar opposite to what we’ve been doing recently.
It’s gonna be slow. There’s gonna be a lot of mirroring of each other and you’re going to see a lot of passion. I think the audience are going to see a completely different side of me.
The song is an amazing choice. I give you a clue what we’ll be dancing to in my love week Q&A video, so give that a watch if you want to know!

I need to stop caring what others think…
All of mine and Vanessa’s routines have been pretty intense, but this is intense in a completely different way. There’s much more time to really perfect the performance in this one. There are a lot more moments in the routine where we need to have eye contact together.
Sometimes in training we just end up laughing the whole way through it. I guess we’ll have to work on reining that in and acting more serious for the actual performance. That’s when it’s the most funny though so it’ll be a challenge.
I’m still overthinking and worrying about the performance aspect. It definitely doesn’t come naturally to me. Even though I’m an actor I’ve never done anything like this before.
I need to start relaxing into it and learn to not care about what other people think. That’s what makes me feel more reserved and stops me expressing myself to my full potential.

My ideal Valentine’s Day date would be…
Valentine’s day is on the horizon. I’ll obviously be on the rink this year, but if I had to organise a date I’d make sure it was something really romantic. I love all the cringey stuff in movies.
My ideal date would be a drive down to the coast. Then I’d find somewhere to just sit in the car and watch movies, maybe do a bit of stargazing. Ooo! A drive-in cinema would be amazing.
If I had to pick a celeb to take with me it’d have to be Cara Delevigne. I’m not huge on celebrity crushes, but I do quite like her.

The competition is heating up…
The competition is definitely getting harder, but there’s nothing in it at all. Can you believe there were three of us at the top of the leader board this week!
If I’m lucky enough to stay in for a few more weeks I think I’ll start letting myself believe I could win. I’m not thinking about that at the minute though. I just want to do my best and take every skate as it comes.
This series has been really chaotic with injuries and people having to withdraw from the competition. It’s scary to be honest! You can take all the precautions available, but some things are just out of your control. You never know what could happen.
I’m taking my physio and recovery really seriously so fingers crossed Vanessa and I are in it for the long haul!
