Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister has taken to Instagram to tell her fans she was being treated by medical staff in her native Madeira. The 44-year-old tested positive for coronavirus on July 17 and had been self-isolating at home.

“I was doing well with few symptoms and following protocol,” she added, in view of her 1.2 million followers.

She continued: “Everyone at home kept away from mum and the videos I have published where I am outside were taken before I tested positive.

“Unfortunately last Friday, I started to get worse.”

The singer added she had developed pneumonia after catching the virus.

“I was admitted to hospital and here I am, doing everything I should and recovering thanks God and thanks to the wonderful medical team here.”

Katia went on to say she won’t allow the virus to bring her down.

She added she was “reacting well” to treatment and had “visible improvements”.

The footballer’s sister concluded her post urging her fans to take care of themselves.
