Bethenny Frankel’s Ex Jason Hoppy Denies Manhandling Daughter as Custody Battle Continues
AceShowbiz –Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy’s custody battle continued as their trial officially began on Monday, March 4. During the trial, “The Real Housewives of New York City” star accused her ex-husband of manhandling their daughter and abusing her dog. Thus, she is seeking full custody of their 8-year-old daughter Bryn and full decision-making power over the little girl.
Her attorney, Allan Mayefsky, claimed that Hoppy was “physically pulling the child away from Mrs. Frankel, leaving negative articles out about Mrs. Frankel, [and] doesn’t flush the toilet. [He] locked up Cookie [Frankel’s late dog] in a storage closet and wouldn’t reveal her whereabouts for hours.” Mayefsky additionally claimed that Hoppy’s abusive behavior would affect Bryn’s relationship not only with them, but with other people in the future.
However, Hoppy’s attorney countered that her claims were false and that the former couple are “doing a great job” co-parenting Bryn. “The idea the relationship between the parties is broken is not true.” He went on accusing the Skinnygirl mogul of making the custody battle about their relationship status. “Bethenny seems intent about making their trial about her, Jason and their issues,” he said. “Bryn is happy, healthy, smart and well-adjusted, is [a] good student and has lots of friends.”
Unlike Frankel, Hoppy wants to keep the current joint custody arrangement the same.
Frankel and Hoppy got married in 2010 after the former found out that she was pregnant. The announced their split in 2012 with their divorce being finalized in July 2016 after years of legal disagreements.
Even though their divorce was finalized, the relationship between the exes didn’t get better. Frankel accused him of stalking and harassing her in 2017, while a judge denied Hoppy’s request to have Frankel undergo drug and alcohol testing in October 2018.
