Bad Company To Release Expanded, 40th Anniversary Edition Of ‘Desolation Angels’

Bad Company have announced plans to release an expanded, 40th anniversary edition of their 1979 album, Desolation Angels.

The new edition will include 19 previously unreleased recordings from the original studio sessions. The new edition, available on 2-CDs or 2-LPs, arrives January 10 via Rhino.

Desolation Angels, the British band’ fifth studio album, was released in March 1979 and reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The album featured the Bad Company classic “Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy,” which peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album sold more than two million copies in the U.S.

The CD reissue includes at least one alternate version of each of Desolation Angels‘ 10 tracks as well as two non-album outtakes — “Smokin’ 45” and “Rock Fever.”
