Amber Heard ‘has PTSD from sexual violence by Johnny Depp’, libel trial hears

A clinical and forensic psychologist has testified that Amber Heard "has PTSD from sexual violence by Johnny Depp”, a libel trial has heard.

In the latest shocking allegations to come out of the blockbuster defamation trial between Johnny Depp, 58, and his ex-wife Amber Heard, 36, Johnny has been accused of using his fingers to search Amber’s private parts for cocaine, as well as forcing her to perform oral sex.

The claims and psychological diagnosis of Amber came from psychologist, Dr Dawn Hughes, who was the first person to take to the stand as a defence witness as Amber’s legal team got their case underway.

The psychologist told the court that she had diagnosed Amber with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), caused by "intimate partner violence by Mr Depp”, after evaluating the actress for a total of 29 hours.

Actor Johnny denies ever assaulting his ex-wife, physically or sexually.

The court heard a number of instances where Amber had told Dr Hughes that Johnny had committed sexual violence towards her.

In one instance, Dr Hughes claimed: "Where when Mr Depp was drunk or high he threw her on the bed, ripped off her night gown and tried to have sex with her. There were times when he forced her to give him oral sex, when he was angry.

"These weren't in loving moments, these were angry moments, moments of dominance, moments of him trying to get control over her."

The doctor went on to claim that Depp had performed a ‘cavity search’ on Amber, whilst looking for cocaine.

It came after he allegedly flew into a jealous rage, believing that a woman had been hitting on Amber, who looked visibly upset in court as Dr Hughes spoke.

Dr Hughes claimed: "There was a time when they were in a Hicksville in a trailer park where he was accusing her of a woman hitting on Amber and that was the problem. Amber got accused of women hitting on her and got accused of men hitting on her.

"But on that incident when Kelly-Sue was accused of hitting on Miss Heard and they went back into a trailer Mr Depp performed a cavity search and ostensibly was looking for drugs and felt it acceptable to rip off her night gown and stick his fingers in her vagina to look for cocaine [he] thought that Miss Heard was hiding in there.

"Again these incidents often happened in a drug fuelled rage.”

Johnny is suing Amber for defamation over a 2018 article she wrote in The Washington Post, which his lawyers say falsely implies he physically and sexually abused her.

He is suing her for more than £38 million, saying her domestic abuse claims have harmed his career and reputation, and lost him acting roles.
