Line of Duty’s Vicky McClure accidentally gives away BIGGEST spoiler yet

Line of Duty has had the nation gripped since its return for its fifth series after a two-year break but a tweet from Vicky McClure ruffled the feathers of viewers.

The latest episode this weekend featured an unexpected twist, but for fans who couldn’t be tempted away from their bank holiday fun to watch were left fuming by a spoiler on Twitter.

Vicky McClure, who plays Kate Fleming in the BBC show, took to Twitter just a few hours after it aired to congratulate her co-star.

The 35-year-old tweeted a picture of her alongside co-stars Stephen Graham and Martin Compston, with a caption that she hoped wouldn’t ruin the show for fans.

t read: “I don’t want to ruin it with spoilers…but this guy Stephen Graham”

However, it seemed the post wasn’t vague enough and Line of Duty viewers felt the tweet was a huge giveaway.

The episode featured the death of Stephen Graham’s villainous character after he was brutally murdered in the ending scenes of the show.

In response to the less than cryptic tweet annoyed fans complained on Twitter.

One questioned: “OMG was this from last night?”

While another shared: “Oh no I was waiting to do a binge watch.”

And a third said: “I have had to text my husband to say DO NOT GO ON TWITTER.”

Things got worse for fans of the mysterious show after TOWIE’s James Argent also made a blunder on Good Morning Britain today after he filled in as a guest host on the breakfast show.

Fans were outraged when the 31-year-old told spoke to Kate Garraway about the show and told viewers that Graham’s character was killed: “I think it’s Stephen Graham isn’t it, the actor. He’s one of my favourite actors. I watched him in Snatch.”

Line of Duty continues on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
